Mooseheads' Ryan Invited To Blues Rookie Camp
ST. JOHN'S, NL, June 30, 2012 - Maybe they heard all the way to St. Louis that Andrew Ryan was singing the blues after not being drafted. In any event the Halifax Mooseheads’ left winger and Paradise, NL native has been invited to attend the St. Louis Blues Rookie Camp in September.
Ryan got the call from a Blues scout shortly after the conclusion of the NHL Entry Draft last weekend. A draft in which his name was not called
Ryan missed three months of the QMJHL season with the Mooseheads when he broke his ankle during the team’s training camp. Prior to the injury Ryan said that he was in the best shape of his life working hard all summer training for five days a week with former Moosehead Ryan Power who he will train with again this summer to work on his strength, quickness, and agility.
Due to the long recovery process and the sluggish start when he came back, Ryan dropped from 64th in the NHL Central Scouting’s mid-term rankings to 109th when the final rankings came out.
Ryan has played for the Mooseheads for the past two seasons scoring 15 goals and adding 19 assists in 93 regular season games while adding one goal and three helpers in 18 post season contests.
