Olympiques 40th Anniversary To Take Place During 2012-13 Season
Gatineau, May 31 2012 – It’s today that the Gatineau Olympiques unveiled a part of their program surrounding the celebrations of their 40th anniversary that will take place during the next season.
It’s to the general director of the 104,7 CKOI, Bob Rioux, that the honorary presidency was awarded for these celebrations. "We are proud that Bob Rioux accepted the 40th anniversary honorary presidency. The committee set up for the organization of these festivities completes themselves well with Bob’s presence and I am certain that the fans will appreciate the various evenings that we will reserve them", underlined the president of the Gatineau Olympiques, Alain Sear.
For the occasion, the Olympiques will retire three former player’s jersey and two coaches. Maxime Talbot (#25), Martin Gélinas (#20), Colin White (#24), Claude Julien and Alain Vigneault will be honored by the organization. Championships special evening will be also on the program to underline the seven President Cup and the Memorial Cup.
The festivities will officially begin with the second edition of the wine and cheese evening on August 30 at the Château Cartier, during which the 2012-2013 edition of the Olympiques will be presented. Maxime Talbot will also be present. Fans that desire will be able to purchase a ticket at the cost of $75 as of mid-June.
In another order of ideas, the Gatineau Olympiques will begin their training camp on August 14th at the Canadian and international hockey academy of Rockland. The remaining of the training camp will be held in Gatineau.
The Olympiques will also dispute two pre-season games against their rivals of the Ontario League, the Ottawa 67’s, on September 7th in Smith Falls and the next day in Rockland. The tickets for the game in Rockland will be on sell at the beginning of the training camp.
