Groulx Honored By Quebec Midget 'AAA' League
Head coach and general manager of the Gatineau Olympiques, Benoit Groulx, was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Hockey League Quebec Midget AAA yesterday at the Palace of Laval. It's not as coach, but as a player that the hockey man from Gatineau was intronised.
Benoit Groulx has indeed spent two seasons with the Gouverneurs of Ste-Foy between 1984 and 1986, during which he played 84 games, cumulating 72 goals and 122 assists, for a total of 194 points. He’s still to this day ranked 4th leading scrorer in the history of this league. In the playoffs, he has recorded 8 goals and 21 assists in 21 games. Groulx won the scoring championship in his second season with the Gouverneurs. That same year he was also selected on the first star team.
The administrator Claude Gauthier and coach Serge Trépanier are the other two personalities inducted yesterday.
