Former 'Q' Player Named GM Of Canadiens
A former player of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Marc Bergevin, was named today General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens.
Bergevin played 136 games for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens for three seasons (1982-83, 1983-84, 1984-85) scoring 13 goals and adding 63 assists for a total of 76 points.
“I would like to congratulate Marc Bergevin for his nomination as General Manager of the Canadiens organisation. I am very happy that the organisation chose to confide such an important role to an alumnus of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League who also happened to have a brilliant NHL career as a player and manager” said QMJHL commissioner Gilles Courteau.
