Blue Jackets Sign Chaput To Three-Year Entry Level Contract

Columbus Blue Jackets Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Scott Howson announced on Saturday that the club has signed Shawinigan Cataractes center Michael Chaput to a three-year entry level contract.

Chaput was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in round three No. 89 overall at the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

The native of Bizard, Quebec was traded to the  Blue Jackets on February 28th 2011 along with Greg Moore from the Flyers for Tom Sestito,

In 57 games this season with the Memorial Cup host Shawinigan Cataractes the 19 year old recorded 63 points including 21 goals and 42 assists along with 47 penalty minutes and a +39 rating.
