The Chicoutimi Saguenéens announced on Monday that they have recalled goaltender Simon-Pierre Chamberland.

The reason for the recall is due to a groin injury suffered by 18 year old goaltender Francis Desrosiers.

Chamberland before the recall was playing with the Montreal East Junior 'AAA' Rangers of the Quebec Junior 'AAA' Hockey League. In 19 games with the Rangers, the netminder posted a record of 6-11-1-0 while also posting a 4.57 goals-against average and a .867 save percentage.

Chamberland signed as a free agent with the Saguenéens before the christmas break. He is expected to start training sessions with the club on Tuesday.
