Gourde, Graham & Bernard Named TELUS Three Stars Of The Week
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Monday announced it's TELUS three stars of the week for the period of January 30th to February 5th 2012.
Victoriaville Tigres left winger Yanni Gourde, Drummondville Voltigeurs goaltender Domenic Graham and Prince Edward Island Rocket right winger Jessyko Bernard have picked up the awards.
First star of the week went to Victoriaville Tigres left winger Yanni Gourde. Gourde during the week recorded eight points (two goals, six assists) in two games for Victoriaville. On Wednesday night the native of St-Narcisse, Quebec recorded four assists in an 8-7 loss to the Rimouski Oceanic. On Friday night the 20 year old posted two goals and two assists in a 6-1 win over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in Baie-Comeau.
Second star of the week went to Drummondville Voltigeurs goaltender Domenic Graham. Graham posted a record of 1-0-0-1 for Drummondville in two games during the week. On Friday night the native of Ottawa, Ontario turned aside 43 of 45 shots in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Saint John Sea Dogs. On Saturday night the 6-0, 153-pound netminder made 27 saves in a 2-1 win over the Rimouski Oceanic.
Third star of the week went to Prince Edward Island Rocket right winger Jessyko Bernard. Bernard recorded four points (two goals, two assists) during the period for Prince Edward Island. On Thursday night the native of Dalhousie, New Brunswick posted a goal and two assists in a 9-6 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. On Friday night the 20 year old scored the game winner for the Rocket as they defeated the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 4-2 at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
