Weegar commits To Halifax For Next Season
Halifax Mooseheads General Manager Cam Russell announced on Thursday morning that 18 year old defenceman MacKenzie Weegar will be joining the Mooseheads for the 2012-2013 season.
Weegar is currently playing with the Nepean Raiders of the Central Canada Tier 1 Junior Hockey League. In 42 games with the Raiders the 6-0, 185-pounder has recorded 43 points.
Weegar is currently ranked 160th among North America skaters by NHL Central Scouting for the upcoming 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
“We’re very happy to add MacKenzie to our roster for next season” stated Russell on the clubs official website . “He’s an offensive defenceman that will fit nicely with the group we have returning on our blueline”.
