Ouellet, Asselin & Girard Named TELUS Three Stars Of The Month For January
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced it's TELUS three stars of the month for January.
Blainville-Boisbriand Armada defenseman Xaiver Ouellet, Chicoutimi Sagienéens right winger Guillaume Asselin and Shawinigan Cataractes goaltender Gabriel Girard have won the award.
First star of the month went to Blainville-Boisbriand Armada defenseman Xavier Ouellet. Ouellet recorded four goals and 12 assists good enough for 16 points during the month while also posting a +8 rating. Ouellet earned at least one point in 10 of 11 games last month. The Detroit Red Wings prospect currently has 43 points in 46 games for the Armada.
Second star of the week went to Chicoutimi Sagienéens right winger Guillaume Asselin. Asselin recorded 21 points with 12 being goals. The Quebec City, Quebec native also posted a +7 rating during the month of January.
Third star of the month went ot Shawinigan Cataractes goaltender Gabriel Girard. Girard posted a record of 7-0-0-1 during the month of January. The native of Varennes, Quebec posted a 1.71 goals-against-average and a .934 save percentage. Girard's streak of 14 consecutive undefeated games in regulation time dates back to November 25th 2011.
