BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday January 10th 2012 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is mourning the loss of Ronald Caron, who passed away on the early morning of January 10th 2012. M. Caron was a General Manager of the Montreal Junior in the mid-70s.

In 1973-74, Ronald Caron was named head scout with the Montreal Canadiens and would be made director of recruitment and player personnel in 1978-79. A tremendous hockey mind, he would be Sam Pollock’s right hand man for many years and etched his name on the Cup in 1971 and 1973 and again in 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979 as assistant general manager.

“We are saddened to hear of Mr Caron’s passing” said the QMJHL commissioner, Gilles Courteau. “He was a true force of nature that not only marked our league, but the entire hockey world as well. He will be greatly missed.”

The entire Quebec Major Junior Hockey League family extends its deepest condolences to the Caron family.
