Former Eagle/Titan Roy Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week
Former Cape Breton Screaming Eagle and Bathurst Titan goaltender Olivier Roy was named the Reebok Hockey ECHL goaltender of the week for the period of January 2nd to January 8th.
Roy, 20, posted a record of 2-0-0-0 along with one shutout and a 0.96 goals-against average and a save percentage of .970 in two appearances with the Stockton Thunder during the week
The native of Causapscal, Quebec made 29 saves in a 1-0 shutout over the Bakersfield Condors on Friday night. The Edmonton Oilers prospect also turned aside 35 of 37 shots in a 3-2 shootout win over Bakersfield on Saturday night.
In 19 games with the Thunder this season, Roy has a record of 7-8-4 along with a 2.63 goals-against average and a save percentage of .916
Roy played four season's in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with three of the four being with Cape Breton.
