Couturier To Play For Flyers Thursday, Former 'Q' Defensemen Bartulis Placed On Waivers

Even Strength has learned that Drummondville Voltigeurs center Sean Couturier will be in the Philadelphia Flyers lineup on Thursday as they Flyers take on the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins in Boston.

Couturier was drafted by the Flyers at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in round one #8 overall. Last season in Drummondville the native of Bathurst, NB recorded 96 points (36 goals, 60 assists) along with 36 penalty minutes and a +/- of +55.

The 6-4, 198 pounder was also apart of Team Canada's club who won silver at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo, New York.

No work yet on if Couturier will return to Drummondville.

Other news from the Flyers: Former Moncton Wildcats and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles defensemen Oskars Bartulis was placed on waivers on Tuesday. Bartulis played three season's in the 'Q', two with Moncton and one with Cape Breton.
