Sags Governor Munger Body Found

terrible news out of Chicoutimi, Quebec on Monday, it has been confirmed by a family spokeswoman that the body found today is that of Chicoutimi Sagueneens governor Gervais Munger. Dominique Savard said that police divers found Mr. Munger's body in a lake about 250 kilometres northwest of Quebec City. The 52 year old Munger played three season's in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League  from 1976-77 to 1978-79, during his time in the 'Q' he had 29 goals, 61 assists in 117 games. He was the governor of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens for over 10 years, he became the governor on September 12th 2000. Munger went missing  on Saturday when he was thrown from the "Zodiac" the boat he was travelling in with three friends, All four on the boat were not wearing life-jackets, but all except Munger were able to swim to shore. Savard said  "Saturday was a major shock and today is another one. But (there is relief) Mr. Munger has been found.", The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Mr. Gilles Courteau released this statement on Monday "We are all under a state of schock and are extremely saddened by this terrible news," "The QMJHL has lost one of its pillars. Gervais Munger was an important part of the QMJHL, acting both as Governor of the Saguenéens franchise and as First Vice-President of our Board of Governors.
